If you are reading this then you have securely locked into the latest Weekly Wrap-up and were successful in avoiding any cyber carnage along your journey here. As it pertains to skateboarding, falling is a intricate part of learning as well as an instant reminder of the sanctity of this life. With each new concrete slap, a not so gentle reminder is given right then and there to the unwilling participant that they are in fact very alive while simultaneously helping to bring them back to reality of the moment. After you finish catching up on what you may have missed in the skate world this week, GO SKATE and remember this proverb the next time you collide with the pavement, make sure to relish the precious moments where nothing else exists except for the pain you are experiencing and the fact that you are truly living in the now.
What were you doing in the months leading up to your thirteenth birthday?? If your name is CJ Collins and you are a skateboarding protégé then you probably were compiling all of your rawest footage to create a montage that puts the work done by most old heads to shame all for a radical new video that your clothing sponsor Volcom is putting out. Puberty hits all of us differently but we here at Wheelbase cannot wait to see what kind of mashing this kid continues to produce as he progresses through his grom years and into full on adult-shred mode.
Skateboarding is not about skating somethings, sometimes but rather about Skating Everything, All the Time! The homies at Bones Wheels have a firm grasp on this concept and are right on the cusp of releasing a new line up of Rough Rider wheels that will take you places you once thought off limits due to their chundary make-up. Josh Hawkins gives us a little product preview as well as a peek at the media clips that are soon to be avaliable to the masses in this quick trailer of him putting the new urethane to the test.
The skateboarding rumor mill has begun to churn out more and more reports that downhill skating is dead but news of this obviously didn’t reach the boys and girls at the Bonzing Skateboards camp who just produced an eight minute mountain mobbing motion picture featuring Bonzaholics Alex Sucala and Adrian DaKine. Be like Bonzing and don’t buy into a fad, but rather do you and get rad!
