The 2nd annual Angie’s Curves downhill skateboard race, held back on September 12-14th near Pala, California, was most definitely the hottest and fasterest race I’ve ever witnessed. With speeds of up to 69 mph and air temps hovering at 110 degree during the day, the race was intense, both literally and literally. Ha ha! That being said, I had a great time at Angie’s this year and of course Louis Pilloni and the Sector 9 crew put on one hell of an event yet again. Kudos!
The following images are what I was able to capture while roaming in flip flops, a felt hat, and short-shorts up and down Angie’s Curves during this year’s race. I believe it prudent to take just a brief moment here to also whole-heartily apologize for the tardiness in releasing these images. I am truly sorry, but in my defense I’m pretty sure I sustained 14 heat-strokes and 2 1/2 dehydrations while on the mountain back in September. For the many of you who—I am sure—are now wondering about my recovery and overall health, I am doing fine. Thank you. The doctors are predicting a full recovery (fingers crossed) and have prescribed a daily dose of especially cold craft-beverages, a strict regiment of more downhill skateboarding, and there has also been a resounding and unanimous request for me to never again wear a darkly hued felt hat while prancing about in the desert when it’s over 100 degrees outside. Well, duh! Anyway, please enjoy my Angie’s Curves, 2014 picture article, be like Sector 9 and “make fun” via riding your skateboard, and also have a radical Tuesday. Shredlove!

A big thanks to Louis Pilloni, EG, Marcus, Dennis, Rob, all the Sector 9 boys, the Ian Tillman Foundation, the Muir Skate crew, the UCSD live-feed film crew, Angie for letting us shred the gnar on her road, Pala Skatepark, and of course each and every one of the rad skaters I was blessed to shoot pics of and hang out with during the race. See you next year!
