Here it is for ya! Our new and improved Weekly Wrap-Up for Sept 19 - 25, 2015. Videos, photos, stuff, gossip, more things, and rad links to satiate your skate appetite.
First off, Matthew McKeon just dropped this video of some North Carolina cops blocking a blind corner while skaters were mobbing’ fast, and then had the audacity to ask the skaters “what hell are y’all dooin’!” Definitely worth a watch if only to see a cop blowing it.
We’ve received a couple videos from various events that happened in Europe and they are worth a peep: Bela Joyride in Austria/Slovenia & France‘s Marchaux, Classic Freeride 2015.
Speaking of Europe, we also caught wind of a boardwalking video from Cologne that dropped this week and features a female skater known simply as Giulia. We also found this rad skate everything video of a crew of skaters hitting all sorts of hills and parks and street spots on their way from a place called Zagreb on their way to see something called Srčki in Sretna Kuća.
One of our favorite websites in skateboarding—Skate and Annoy—has just dropped a video and article featuring rare footage from a documentary-style VHS tape of the “Transworld” Skate Event held at the 1986 World Expo in Canada. Plus the site adds a bunch of “commercial breaks” within and featuring non-endemic brands using skateboarding from over the years. Skate-nerd gold!
The Loaded crew loves making weird skateboards, having fun, and also helping the community. Thusly, they have produced a very limited run of 300 individually numbered and modified “Carbon” Tesseract boards and are offering them one-time-only on their site on October 1st at 9AM PST and will be donating 20% of the proceeds from each board to the awesome non-profit STOKED whose mission is to inspire low-income teens and help them succeed through action sports. These funds will be used exclusively to get kids on skateboards in the Los Angeles area and our team will be on hand to help along the way. The boards will be available and will go fast. They made a release video too: Loaded Boards Carbon Tesseract
This one’s for all the skate shops out there: Eastern Skateboard Supply, the world’s number one skater owned and operated skateboard distributor, just launched it’s new web site with all sorts of new features.
Here’s some DIY delight by the Creature Skateboards crew via a tight-walled quarterpipe session featuring a gnarly lip-trick slaughtering by the “Norwegian Hammer”, Milton, and Al “Parts” Partain somewhere in Berlin, Germany.
People love making techy skateboards and Ryan Olliges of 121C Boards is one of them. This dude is using aerospace-grade carbon fiber. Spencer Nuzzi of Green Label decided to give one a test. You can see what he found at 2:23 in this clip.
The UK’s Huck Magazine X Levis have been releasing a series of advitorial videos to accent there collaborative Skateboarding Special print magazine that just dropped recently in the UK and US. Here’s one such video featuring Finnish skateboarder Marius Syvanen.
This video of Matt Deitch mic’ed up at the 2015 Kozakov Challenge the Czech Republic is worth a view.
Lastly, in video news stuff we have the Caliber team in their latest tour video featuring their road trip with the Sunset Sliders up to the Giant’s Head Freeride.
