The Testing:
Our testing of Loaded Boards’ Cantellated Tesseract went down on some local asphalt barrels and features the shredding of our homie Justin Preston.
Features:
The Cantellated Tesseract is one of three offerings in the Tesseract line-up. This board is a 36” long and 9 ½” wide single-kick downhill skate deck made of bamboo, fiberglass, and cork . This deck features rocker, w-concave, and ample wheel well flares.
Pros:
Our favorite thing about this board was the subtle yet useful combination of its curves. The rocker, w-concave, and wheel well flares come together nicely and in such a way that they lock you in without making your feet feel cramped like some other downhill boards with steeper and sharper curvatures. We also really enjoyed the slight and damp flex of the board as it seemed to soften the bumps and cracks of the roadway.
Cons:
We really enjoyed having the single kicktail for popping up into hand after a downhill run, and also enjoyed it for kicking out shove-its and two-wheeled slides. That said, the weight, length, and gnarly griptape of this board does limits it’s efficacy when attempting some ollie tricks.
Overall:
The Cantellated Tesseract is a beautiful and well-designed downhill skateboard with an added kicktail for increased trick options. This board’s comfortably contoured standing-platform helps lock you in when going fast, railing corners, and kicking out slides. The very slight and dampened flex of this board also adds to it’s overall smooth ride. We give this board a thumbs up and a shaka!
