If you are gonna be in or around the Texas Hill Country this weekend, we highly recommend that you attend the Carve Skateshop ATX Race Series—Race #5 “Water Tower”. The Texas scene is dope as a pound of horse tranquilizers, and the Carve crew holds it down, with style. So if you are in the area get involved and go shred this event. Here are the details:
Event Facebook page: Carve Race Series#5 Water Tower
“Water Tower is roughly 30mph with two turns, a left and a right with the right requiring a pre drift. This race will be different from all past WT races being that there will a 8 inch kicker that riders must go over, similar to the kicker at the Cathlamet downhill corral in Washington. The kicker will be placed before the first turn, so you will not be forced to hit it at full speed. Any whining about the kicker will result in me making the kicker larger, so shut your pie holes and embrace the change.
This race will be single elimination with 2 man heats. $10 entry, 5 of which will be put in the pot for race six, while the other 5 will go to the winners of WT. The cash pot currently stands at $740 so race six will be for big money!
Also, this race will have a grom division. I will decide on age limit at the race when I have a better idea of age groups.
Yes, there will be a raffle and lots of great prizes.
Like all races in Austin, you can choose to meet at Carve and grab a map to the hill, or you can meet us there!
Prizes have been stacking up and I’m not really feeling the raffle, so we are not going to have one. INSTEAD, I will be hand selecting 10-20 grudge matches, whoever comes out on top of these matches takes the prize.” (Zak of Carve)
