Video: Madrid’s Ditch Event “Buditch Masterwave”

Wheelbase | July 12, 2024 | Comments (0)

Here’s a little (it’s actually pretty hefty) video recap from Madrid, Spain’s recent ditch jam. There’s some shredding, a handful of hipster chics getting hip, live music, partying, and some cool bungee whipping.

I have one question though: Why were there so many ladies at this thing? I feel like there’s something we could all learn from the people that organized this event. Anyway, enjoy.

Video:100% Skateboardable Home.

Marcus Bandy | July 12, 2024 | Comments (0)

No matter what type of skateboarding you’re into, you’re guaranteed to appreciate this fully skateable house. It is now in the prototype stages but is to be finished somewhere in the hills of Malibu, California. This is some next-level Skate House action right here! This video got me thinkin’: what would a Utopian downhill or longboard skateboard-friendly house look like? It would definitely have to be a hell of a lot bigger. Ha ha! Get stoked and go skate.

The 2011 Maryhill Miniramp Death Match 5000

Wheelbase | June 27, 2024 | Comments (0)

Yo rippers,

Our homie Andrew Mercado is throwing a miniramp jam/contest at this year’s Maryhill race. Looks like it’s going to be Texas death-match style with four riders shredding at once. Gnar! It will be held at the skatepark near the rider’s camp site and should def be radical. Also, this flier is epic. Ha ha! Check back here for coverage of the event. Get some!

Howdy folks,

you like cheese pizza? Want an organic pop tart?

Anyway, Yesterday feels like it was at least three days ago and it’s just the beginning of the Up North Down Hills Skatecation-Expedition—our compass set to North. By God, we saw a weasel!

So far it’s been phantasmically epic-critical on our drive up the West Coast including some much-needed skate and surf stops. We started the day by making a base-camp at Andrew Molera State Beach in Big Sur. Big Sur is a grand spectacle to say the least. We arrived late to a full campsite so we just rolled up with the general party. A few beverages later and we had commandeered a campsite and were enjoying the evening’s big-star sky. I started celebrating my 21st birthday a bit early by getting drunk and then stuck in my tent. Spencer from Caliber is a champion and helped me get out, so all’s good.

And this was just the first day! Stay tuned folks for continued coverage from Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Portland, OR and from Maryhill. Get Peteed!

Yeehaw!,

Pete

Skate[Slate] Website Hacked By Over X.

Wheelbase | June 20, 2024 | Comments (0)

It’s official, the Skate[Slate] website was temporarily hijacked by some hackers that seem to like shitty gansta rap? WTF!?! These hackers pasted a static page donning a Republic of Algeria flag and the words “Peace and Harmony” over all that was Skate[Slate]. And as we alluded to above, the hackers page was additionally looped with a whack-ass studio-gangsta audio track. We are not sure what to make of this hacking? But we do know that the hackers are calling themselves “Over X”. We hope the Slate bros get this shit sorted out soon.

A friendly message from our editor to the Over X hacker(s): We want to make it very clear that Wheelbase has much love for the Algerian people; and like you, we also believe in the tenets of Peace and Harmony. We would additionally like to ask that you please refrain from getting your “Hack on” o’er here and that you please try listening to some more cognitive hip hop music. We suggest the: The Coup. Thanks.

Update 6/20/2011 (9:30PST): It looks like the dudes over at SS have overcome their hackers. Stoked!
