With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high-tension wires downHelpless people on subway trains
Scream, bug-eyed, as he looks in on themHe picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of townOh, no, they say he’s got to go
Go go Godzilla!- Blue Öyster Cult (1977)
It’s far too easy to get caught up in the contest-oriented mindset of “today’s skateboard culture” and focus on being the “best”. Despite what you’ve seen on the television, however, skateboarding isn’t actually about being the fastest rider, best flipkicker or longest powerslider. It’s about something bigger and better than all of that. Skateboarding is about being really funny. If there were a podium upon which we would bestow trophies to lads and lasses whom we think are the “funniest”, the Bonzing Skateboards crew would be on it. Dudes know how to make goofy skate edits and we’re stoked with each one they put out! Especially this one, because Godzilla.
Also, to anyone fluent in Japanese, we would like to let you know that the title seen here is the best translation Google would give us for the phrase “Godzilla is headed towards the San Francisco area!” So, please excuse us if it’s straight-up awful. Happy Halloween!
