Another week, another Weekly Wrap-Up! Summer is in full swing and we hope all of you out there are getting yours. The days are long and nowhere on the horizon is the threat of dreaded session ending weather, only all day skate sessions which we hope are rolling well into the summer nights. Without further delay we have compiled our regularly scheduled wrap up of noteworthy skateboard related topics to get you hyped and get you back out in the streets shredding till the wheels fall off or your legs give out.
Huf Worldwide recently released a collaboration with Chocolate Skateboards, and while the product offering is alright, the real gold is this Commercial featuring some amazing New York City footage of Keith Hufnagel and the late Keenan Milton. Whether or not this the footage is “never before seen” or not doesn’t matter because both dudes are legends and any footage of them in their natural habitat is a privilege
Last weekend in a small corner of British Columbia the annual Sullivan Challenge went down. “The Sully” as its often referred to is really unique beast: It completely consumes the small town of Kimberly, the same weekend is a women’s soccer tournament (which also takes over the town), the race runs through the towns main street, there is a beer garden on the course, its FREE to enter and most of all you get to witness Schnitzel in his natural environment. Landyachtz did a sick recap video which you can find on their Facebook page which is absolutly worth a few views.
Valhalla Skateboards, known for mental follow car filming, just dropped their latest vid “Master Blaster in Mecca” featuring Ian McSherry and Miles Parker. If you are into really, really fast powerslides and gorgeous mountain runs, you might want to check it out. In the video description, they also mention they will no longer be making their engraved logo decks, so if you were keen on those get one while you can.
Rodney Mullen stepped out of the shadows recently and dropped an insane video part via Vouge Magazine of all places. The video part is mental, but the head scratcher is Vouge’s recent interest in Skateboarding. If you want to see more of Vouge’s skate offering, check out this awesome guide on The 5 Best Dressed Professional Skaters
Jenkem Magazine, one of our favorite online publications just dropped their very first print edition, Vol. 1. You can learn a lot more from this trailer here, check out the release party photos here and pre-order here.

Event News:
One of our favorite races of the year is going down this weekend, the Mt. Tabor Downhill Challenge, hosted by Daddies Board Shop! This event is the complete opposite of your typical “stand-in-the-sun-all-day-and-wait-for-your-run-only-to-get-crashed-out-or-have-it-start-raining” type of race. Taking place in beautiful Portland, Oregon, this event is more about having fun, fine tuning your old school tuck and wearing funny speed suits. The only thing you may take seriously is if you run out of Beer. Registration can be done HERE and if you are lucky you might even get filmed with a Toaster.

Rider/ Industry News:
Streetplant hit the road with Mike Vallely and Kristian Svitak for an east coast tour visiting shops and hanging out with locals along the way. These two dudes are about as legend as they get. If you have the opportunity to check them out on this tour do so, as it will not be regretted.
Wheelbase Fam:
Contributor and longtime friend of Wheelbase Khaleeq Alfred has joined the Wheelbase family as our official Photo Editor and we couldnt be more stoked. If you are unfamiliar with Khaleeq keep an eye on him as he takes a damn good photo and is an all around epic human.
Marcus Bandy and Josh Dunn are traipsin’ around Europe. Follow them both on instagram for an eye full of rad action. We here at HQ are looking forward to the war stories of epic adventures upon there return.
Everyone else in the Wheelbase Fam? Its safe to say they are out in the world chasing summer and putting wheels on anything worth rolling on, which is what you should be doing too. So what are you waiting for? Go get your self some!
