It’s not every day that our favorite recreational activity gets attention from the slightly-more-mainstream media, let alone some attention in a positive light that doesn’t involve “chillboarding” or sidewalk surfing. It has come to our attention that the Huffington Post, a liberal/progressive content aggregator, has taken an interest in the world of downhill skateboarding in the form of a fun edit featuring Sean Spees navigating the hills of the drool-worthy San Francisco. The article/post titled “San Francisco Longboarding Video Shows Monster Hills And Breathtaking Vistas” appears to also have been previously titled as “Is This The Best SF Skate Video Ever?”, to which one may reply “Well, that would depend, Arianna. Do you like rad skateboarding? Or do you like rad skateboarding?” (I guess we’ll just leave it up to the viewer to answer that question in a more serious manner.) Someone out there once told me “a rising tide lifts all boats” and we find ourselves stoked to have our boat in the ocean that is downhill skateboarding. I find it fair to believe Sean’s sponsors feel the same way.
And, without further adieu, here’s Sean’s video, crafted by Aviel Hod:
