Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!”
The above quote by Hunter S. Thompson might as well be the official motto for this past summer’s #KeepOnTuckin Tour. We covered a lot of ground (nearly 3,000 miles total) in two weeks’ time with a generous slathering of skate stops along the way. Our journey began at the bottom left corner of the US and took us up the coast through San Francisco, on to Portland, Maryhill, Portland again, Vancouver, the Canadian Vancouver and Whistler to wrap it up. All eight seats in the Muircedes van were occupied for the duration of the trip, for as we would lose the occasional compañero due to scheduling conflicts, there was another one waiting to hop on in.
The trip itself was a blast. We had way too much fun for our own good and the time spent on our journey flew by. That said, the rest of the 2013 summer flew by as well. And all-of-a-sudden it’s October and we haven’t released the #KeepOnTuckin recap because we’ve been busy traveling the country while doing other rad things. Well, folks, without too much further adieu here it is in all its glory! The 2013 Keep On Tuckin’ Tour recap! Enjoy.
We documented the journey as we rolled along and, as the internet connections would allow, we made posts for each stop we made. You can check out the photo articles for each of the six stops on the tour here:
