Testing DB Longboards “Diamondback” Deck:
We hit a couple local hills and a few other crustable-bustable, local spots in order to see what this board was made of.
Features:
The DB Longboards “Diamondback” is a long double-kick skateboard measuring in at 36.3″ in length and just under 9.5″ in width. It features a 21.75″ wheelbase with tip-to-tail rocker, healthy concave, and a functional yet snubbed nose-kick.
Pros:
We really enjoyed the overall length of this deck, especially when hitting hills and in particular when whipping out slides. The ample tail-kick provided a nice amount of length for popping olllies as well as stabilty when shralping various lip tricks. The nose, although tapered and shortened, provided just the right functionality for a range of nasal shuvits and other such manual maneuvering.
Cons:
The tip-to-tail rocker of this board is killer for downhill riding, as it locks in your feet, but it can definitely take some getting used to when performing maneuvers that require ollieing. That said, once you get you get used to it, the possiblilites are endless.
Overall:
The longer wheelbase, rocker, ample kicktail, and healthy concave, of the DB Diamondback make it a great choice for any skater looking to hit both the hills and the streets. We’d suggest setting it up with some 150-159mm trucks and a set of soft wheels in the 60mm range. The DB Diamond got our tails to rattlin’ and we definitely recommend adding one of these decks to your quiver.
