WORDS & PHOTOS Jake Grove
The Muir Skate Downhill Disco goes off every year, and brings out the grooviest grinds, gaps and grins direct to the Southern California skate community. The team over at Muir has a love and devotion for skateboarding that is so rich and this action-packed weekend full of bell bottoms, ramp boosts, dance parties, and boarder cross racing is a perfect example of that shredlove. Where else can you find a ramp jam, warehouse party, live music, art show, two-day slide jam, cones race, and boardercross course for a mere fifteen bucks? Nowhere! The Downhill Disco is truly one of a kind, and the most funkadelic, groovetastical event on this side of the galaxy.
Video Recap by Bustin Boards:
If you were able to strap on your disco-dance-shoes and boogie on down to the Downhill Disco this year, then you’ve already witnessed the tail-poppin’ launches, beat droppin’ bands, and fish-floppin’ slams that we’re talking about. But don’t fear if you were not able to get your groove on at the event this year, we got you covered! Our Wheelbase Family was getting down with the grooves in your stead and keeping it funky-fresh for those that didn’t make it out this year. So release your coat-tails, pull up your bell bottoms, and hit the lights, because we’re taking you back to the Return of the Disco. Please enjoy our visually-stimulating, eye-widening, mind-flowing video, textual, and photographic coverage.

Thank You’s:
Scott Lembach of Muirskate.com would like to give thanks: “This year’s Return of the Disco went down in history as one of the most attended Discos! The action at the Freeride was jaw dropping! The Sector 9 after party was totally groovy and hats-off to the racers that came out on Sunday and put on show for everyone to enjoy! We want to thank all the skaters and spectators that made it out to to all 3 events! Let’s not forget to mention those that make this event special and unique like our own ramp crew; Jonny Miller of Toy Land and Scott’s Brother Larry. Of course “Striker” of Coast Longboarding as well for reminding us over and over of how much fun this weekend was! The volunteers that helped pick up garbage, setup the event coarse, and cleanup the end of the long weekend were extremely helpful and we are very thankful for their commitment to giving back to the scene!!
