Greetings from the road! We here at Wheelbase News have packed our bags and are heading South to the beautiful state of North Carolina are hoping to put our wheels down on some old spots as well as some that have yet to be discovered! Getting on the road and seeing new locations using your skateboard as not only your vehicle but also your excuse to see new places that you may other wise have experienced is one of the underlying blessing associated with the skate life. After you take a look at some of adventures had by members of our community atop their own personal sled in our latest Weekly Wrap-up, follow suit and put some work in at a spot in town you haven’t yet shredded or even pack up the station wagon and hit the skate park the next town over! I promise ten years from now when you look back on your skate career, you will never regret the skate trips that you actually took but will 100% regret the ones you didn’t! GO SKATE!!!!
There are many “movements” within skateboarding but very few are as rootsy as the DIY scene that is popping up everywhere. Nothing is more skateboarding than just going rogue and pouring a truck load of concrete in an abandoned urban setting which is what helps make this latest edit from Spitfire Wheels so flame! If this doesn’t make you want to run down to Home Depot and clear out their ‘crete supply, which is something Wheelbase highly encourages, nothing will so if you’re lucky enough to find a spot to construct one of these bad boys, please do for our sake.
The latest video released from our friends up in British Columbia is a worm hole into the engineering behind the recently released Landyachtz Triple Beam. After one look at this skateboard you know that it is a serious machine that clearly took a lot of critical thinking and design to manifest and now thanks to this cinematic break down, every feature is explored with explanation of its function.
Some skate companies just get “it” and Satori Movement absolutely fits this description to a tee which is exemplified by their wide range of wheel sizes and duros that are offered. To test the various applications of some of these designs, Satori Team Manager TKP went road trippin’ and came back with some radical footie of his findings! This is what we were talking about when we said go skate and discover whats around you!
Bustin Boards just posted a video featuring their top dawg Max Ballesteros crushing some runs in the Swiss Alps with the homies during his recent trip to Europe for the IDF race circuit. Beautiful country side paired with beautiful skating makes for a great watch that any skater can appreciate.

Event News:
It is that time of year again for the Adult Swim Skatepark Take-Over that is hosted annually at skateparks across the country when regular school hours take effect again. This event isn’t officially sanctioned and may require some long “lunch breaks” from its participants in order to fully capitalize on the now empty line-ups seen at most home town parks across the US. For more information as to dates and times as to when you can expect to see the pulses of this event start to roll into your local break, we suggest that you check with your local Public School System for their days of mandatory academic attendance and plan to charge it on those days. Best of luck to all the participants and to all the upset groms who are back in school, the next teacher work day is right around the corner, hold tough and pay your dues and your time will come soon enough!
