The International Skateboarding Federation has released a video (an “unlisted” one at that) explaining why they feel skateboarding should be included in the Olympics and, perhaps as expected, they’re using Shaun White as one of their many selling points. Sure, skateboarding is now (and has been) accessible at all corners of the globe, so it’s very likely “the right time” to add our #lifestyle to the Olympics. But first, we have a couple questions rolling around in our collective brain: Should skateboarding be an Olympic “sport”? What is skateboarding? Is it the same thing as #skateboarding? What are “the Olympics”? Which hashtag should I follow to learn more about the brand? Can I find them online? Does anyone even have cable anymore? Who is Shaun White? Are there going to be over-sized shoe-brand and energy-drink logos everywhere? We can only hope that these questions and more will be answered in the coming months. Until then, we’ll just have to keep re-watching that Fakie 10 the short dude threw down on the mega.
