Welcome to the latest edition of the Weekly Wrap-up, a glimpse at skateboarding events throughout our community that transpired during the last seven day interval. Skating is rad for so many reasons with perhaps one of the more therapeutic aspects being the fact that skating keeps your mind focused on the exact moment you are in, allowing an escape from the trials of reality. This also allows us to truly experience the value of every single precious moment that we have here on this earth. As we recap some of the happenings from this past week, we do not mean to distract you from the reality of now, but rather, help you enhance all of your future moments by providing proper shred inspiration for you to experience them to their fullest potential.
This weeks Wrap-up is dedicated to the memory of Nathan Stone Adams whose love for skating and genuine stoke helped to inspire many life changing choices in the lives of all those lucky enough to call him their friend. Roll on Brother. and we will get another session in together soon enough.Sometimes the best laid plans are better off being broken, a concept not lost on the Tactics DH squad who recently tore through their NorCal spot check list after the recently hearing the news about the Donner Pass event cancelation. The media they came back with made it look like they still managed to salvage a good time out of the trip which is the essence of journey.
The Bonzaholic Brothers, James Tracey and Sean Stratmeyer can’t stop, won’t stop getting after it out in the Southwest spillways that they call home. These dieting ditch dwellers display the Bonzing mantra by skating anything and everything they can find in their latest video release.
If you’ve been on the internet lately then you’ve probably seen a lot of talk and of Brian Anderson, legendary pro skater, and his choice to announce his sexual orientation as homosexual after via a short video doc on Vice. Downhill skateboarder Max Dubler was so inspired by Brian Anderson’s story that he penciled his experience via Jenkem Magazine giving a brief history of homosexuality in skateboarding as well as provided some of his perspectives as a gay skateboarder.
Board walking has never looked so stylish as it does in this latest video form The Board Shop in Korea which show cases top notch dancing by a few of the local homies.
Follow along for a Red Hot sunset run from Bustin Boards Spanish stud Toti “Bicicleta” who earns a solid ten points for this latest quick mash up in which he hold onto a stand up coleman that would have bucked even the best of us right off.

Event News:
After a few years of laying dormant, the California Outlaw Series is coming back with a vengeance in 2017! This Series is meant to ban all California downhill skaters together in an effort to unite the existing scene while also offering opportunity to grow the number of skaters in general. James Kelley has taken the lead on this project, making himself the figure head behind this unification effort. This is the mission behind what James is trying to do in his own words as released on the Official Facebook Page for the series:
“Detected to the growth and maintenance of the California Downhill Skateboarding Community through solitary, and collective event organization. If you’re interested in hosting an event and need some support hit us up! Our goal is to host a race series bringing all of the downhill skaters outta the woodwork. California has a lot of events, but were not unified. Each of the California Outlaw events is hosted by its own race organizer. This makes it easy from us to bring all the community leader together and cover the entire state! We’ve banned together and created a uniform racing platform. Skaters are going to be earning points from every Cali Outlaw race they attend. Your best 5 events of 8 get counted to your finial points. Prize money will be collected form each entry fee to cover prize money for that event, as well as money saved up for our series champion. In 2008 we managed to get over 1500 for California’s champion… wonder what we’ll reach in 2017.”Even if you don’t live in Cali, any or all of these races look like they have the potential to be hella rad!! Be sure and mark your calendars for the scheduled dates so you can get out and be an active member in helping to grow what we all love so much.
