Dayum! It’s Friday already!?!
Yessiree! And welcome to our lastest Wheelbase Weekly Wrap-Up for May 16th - May 22th, 2015. We’ve whipped/cooked/huntered-and-gatherered this news collection from the skate community so you don’t have to. This week’s collection features a plentitude of videos, rider news, gossip, pics, event updates & recaps, product launchings, and more video, video, video. Please peruse at your leisure and get pumped for the freakin’ weekend.
The Russians are shredding!!! The Russians are shredding!!! The CIA - S (Critical Intelligence Action - Stokers) have just informed us that a band of Ruski rippers calling themselves as X3M Boardshop & ODI Films are steady bombing hills in the Caucaus Mountains!!! And, they’re filming a rad skate video too!!!! Here’s the just-released promo edit!!!! Word has it that the full-length is to be released in July and will feature skaters ripping mountain roads near Mt Elbrus—the tallest peak in all of Europe. На здоровье!
There has most definitely been a wheelbarrow-and-a-half full of videos released this week. A few examples of such action are Caliber Truck Co.’s followed up edits from their new Grade b-sides series. Three new edits featuring Liam Morgan, Jordan Riachi, and Brandon Tissen are live and direct. If your skateboard is downhill-inclined, then these videos are sure to rock your inner Chaka Kahn.
The Landyachtz crew also dropped this dope Dinghie video that they recently filmed while in the Lonestar state of Texas. As many of you already know, we hella live that cruiser lifestyle. “Bout it!
Bustin Boards also just released this follow-up video to their Portugal video series featuring the talented Bruno and Toti. Here’s Episode-2.
Off of the hills & streets and into backyard pools and deep bowls, the Santa Cruz Skateboards crew recently dropped this banger new Strange Notes edit featuring Tristan Rennie absolutely slaying it. San Pedro (Channel Street and Peck Park) represent!
The tasty video action does not stop quite yet! Here’s another rad edit sent to us from Ross Druckery called Tactics DH and showcasing some Northwestern DH rippers ripping in southern Oregon. Fast and drifty pack runs on closed roads? Yes please!
The Loaded Boards clan—more specifically, Adam Colton and Camilo Cespedes—recently arrived back home from a tour through Mexico with the Miguel Azanza, Gerardo Moreno, and Fer Vega of the Treee team and have this sweet edit to share.
Last but not least, comes the recently aired video from the Arbor’s Sucrose Initiative wheel showcase series starring Malibu hill-bomber Cooper Darquea. This vid, and the other’s in this series, are informative, silly, and power-packed with killer skating. That’s a lot of videos, huh! Anyway, onward and forward

In rider news, Muir Skate has just announced that William Royce is their latest team rider, and to hype up such a rad addition to their already stacked DH team they have subsequently released this new 2015, Catalina Island Classic recap featuring none other than “Bill Rice” (as we like to call him). Congrats to all involved.
In even more rider/industry new, Casey Morrow and Pat H finally made an Instagram for their skate bus: @sk8bus. It’s already turned into one of our favorite Insta accounts for sure. Rumor also has it that just about everyone on Team Mids has had their girlfriend break-up with them recently. We can neither confirm nor disconfirm that a lot of mutual emotional support and “selfish abuse” may or may not be happening on the East Coast right about now. If this IS true, stay strong, brothers! We can however most definitely confirm that Bad Decisions Alex has a mohawk now and is traveling around the world filming skate videos. More on the fruits of his trampings coming to an interweb near you. . . What’s this we just heard buzzing in our ears over here at HQ? Michael Carson has designed a new signature downhill deck for Bonzing Skateboards and it will be releasing very soon? If this is indeed the truth of it we are stoked as MC is a ripper and a signature board is most definitely well deserved. Here’s some recent evidence of Michael’s shred-prowess.
It seems as if the DB Longboards crew up in Washington state have been busy building some new shredsleds. This soon-to-be-released (Next month we believe) Keystone is looking unique, sexy, and technasty af. They’re claiming that it’s a “quiver-killer”. Hmmm . . . click the below image to find out more about this new skateboard of the long and contoured persuasion.
