Gullwing Trucks are definitely making some serious moves this year. Along with launching a range of new trucks and compiling a diverse and growing team of shredders, Gullwing has also just launched a radnasty new website. The new site features a range of fresh, rider-designed products and showcases their growing team of rippers. Since our homie, Andrew Mercado, is the brand/team-manager over at Gullwing, we thought we’d gather a few of his thoughts on all that’s going on over at Gullwing Trucks. Check it out:

Wheelbase: Gullwing has been pretty low-key for some years now, but you guys have been working behind-the-scenes on a major re-launch of the Gullwing Trucks brand. The website just went live a few days ago and features a bunch of rad trucks and a diverse team of rippers. Seems like a big job to take a classic brand like Gullwing Trucks and make it fresh and comtempararily relevant. what’s the new vision for Gullwing Trucks—what kinda rad shit can we expect from your twisted mind?

Mercado: Its hard to say Gullwing has been low-key being we never went anywhere. Gullwing has been around since the 70′s and in recent years has capitalized on making a basic quality truck catered to the ongoing longboard boom we are experiencing. While this has been hugely successful, one area we have lacked in is performance products in both the longboard and core markets. When I was appointed to develop this end of the brand, I knew it was going to be a lot of work. It meant me putting my head down and getting it done. The end result yielded new performance products, new riders, and a new direction of the brand focusing on performance. We plan to do a lot of throw-back stuff focusing on our rich history in skateboarding, as well as support the areas of skateboarding that are truly progressing forward. At the end of the day, our goal is to offer product, and a brand, that apply to all areas of skateboarding.

I could get into detail about all of our new products, riders, ect; but you can figure that out on your own via our new website. It has a team blog where you can stay up-to-speed with our riders, as well as, the products section has details about all of our new products. Additionally, the following is a breakdown of release dates of the new stuff:

Charger II - Available now
PRO III Re-Issue - End of September
Shadow DLX - End of October
Winged Munkae (Munkae Colab) - November

Wheelbase: Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Andrew—anything else you’d like to drop before we go slappy some curbs?

Mercado: Skaters can always stay up-to-date with happenings via our Team Blog and Facebook. And be sure to check out our Youtube and Vimeo channels for videos we have been turning-out lately. Now turn off the computer and go skate!
