The Wheelbase “Skate Everything” Video Challenge

Calling all Shredders and Rippers of Rad,

Introducing The Wheelbase Skate Everything Video Challenge presented by Gullwing Truck Co. & Rip City Skate. This video challenge is simple: skate everything, film it, and submit a video for a chance to win $500 big ones, and whole lot of dope-ass gear.

Once we receive all the video submissions we’ll pick the three that we believe best represent the theme of “skating everything” and then the 1st, 2nd , and 3rd place prizes will be chosen by the skate community via the Wheelbase YouTube Channel.

Anybody and everybody are welcome and encouraged to participate in this Wheelbase Challenge. There is no skill requirement. However, we do ask that you follow all of the submission guidelines provided below.

Here’s how the Challenge works:

- Challenge begins September 25, 2012. Submission ends November 25, 2012.

-Your video submission should be no longer than 2 minutes in length and is required to include the skating of hills, transition (ramp, pools, pipe, ect), and street (curbs, stairs, ledges, banks, sidewalks, planters, whatever).

-The riding of both long and shorter boards, as well as the riding of both reverse and traditional kingpin trucks, are suggested but not required. You can have as many skaters in your video as you like (the more the merrier!) but remember that the submitter of the video is the one that wins the prizes.

-Our judging for the three finalists will be based on the following: Skating Everything, Style (the video & skating), How much Fun you’re having, and Creativity (the video & skating).

-As always, we will not accept anything hateful or degrading.

-One submission per individual.

-After you have finished filming and editing your video, give it a cool title and upload it to your Youtube Channel. If you do not have a Youtube account yet, make one—it’s super easy. After your video has been uploaded, fill-out and submit the form provided below, making sure to include the link to your video. Please also make sure to fill out the form completely before pressing send.

-Once we receive your video submission via the form provided below, we will send you a confirmation email letting you know that your submission into the challenge has been received and that you are officially entered. Please be patient and allow a couple of days for our response.

-Next, the Wheelbase Action Committee (WAC) will watch all of the entries. Once we’ve seen them all, we’ll pick the top three finalists. We’ll then contact the makers of those top three videos and have them upload them to our Wheelbase Youtube Channel for community voting. Once the top-three videos have been uploaded to our Wheelbase Youtube Channel, the community voting will begin and last the duration one complete week.

-Once the community voting has been completed, The Wheelbase Skate Everything Video Challenge will end, and the $500.00 winner and the two runners-up will be officially announced on the site via a Wheelbase Challenge Feature article, including the showcasing of all their videos and a few others we think mentionable.

Judging:

As we mentioned above, we will be picking the top-three videos ourselves based on the diversity of boards ridden and terrain skated, as well as overall creativity, the level of Fun being had, and style—considering both the skating and the video itself.

In the end, it’s the actual Skate Community itself, via our Wheelbasemag Youtube Channel, that will pick who wins the First, Second, and Third place prizes.

We suggest having fun and really enjoying the creative process of this challenge—the real reward is in the doing.

That said, we believe skaters are some of the most industrious, resourceful, and creative human beings on the planet, and we can’t wait to see all of your killer videos. Rip it and clip it!

Second Place: A shit ton of gear from Gullwing Trucks, Rip City Skate, and Wheelbase Magazine.

Third Place: A little less, but still a shit-ton of gear from Gullwing Trucks, Rip City Skate, and Wheelbase Magazine.
