Board Review: Sector 9′s “Tiffany”

| May 21, 2024 | Comments (0)

The Tiffany is Scott Smith’s new Pro model from Sector 9’s Downhill Division. It is a directional top-mount speed board with a 5/8” directional drop in the front, and W-concave in the rear. This 9-ply maple deck is 37” in length, 10” wide, has 4 wheelbase options 28” upwards, and features CNC wheel wells.

The Testing:

For this particular review we wanted to go fast, so we decided to head up to the Santa Cruz mountains for some speedy redwood forest runs.

Results/Findings:

Pros:

The Tiffany’s directional shaping and front drop provide for stability and a great referencing for your front foot. The W-concave in the rear helps keep your foot positioned and planted at speed. And we really enjoyed the stiffness of the 9ply construction.

Cons:

It must be noted that this deck is built for going fast and mobbing mountain roads. It may not be the best first-option for your next neighborhood slide jam or kicking around town.

Overall: The Tiffany is a very solid downhill speed board. The concave and shape are well thought out, and provide for a comfortable and stable ride. The drop in front allows for a slightly “divier” feel even when running lower trucks like Caliber 44s. And due to the well-placed wheel-wells, wheel bite is not an issue when running lower degree trucks, or larger wheels. Bottom Line, this is real fun board that’s ready for serious speed.
