Wheel Review: Sector 9 “Butterballs”

| July 2, 2024 | Comments (0)

The Sector 9Butterballs” wheel is a white 80a durometer centerset freeride wheel featuring Sector 9′s Slide Formula and is available in two sizes—both 65 and 70mm.

The Testing:

In order to test the Sector 9’s Butterballs we hit some of our favorite local back roads and alleyways.

Results/Findings:

Pros:

The Butterballs have a good amount of grip when carving and create nice thick thane lines when sliding. We really like the two different size options, which allows them to be used on boards of all sizes.

Cons:

These wheels slide great, but they are not the longest lasting wheel on the market.

Overall: The butterballs are a great option for the skater looking for a performance slide wheel that leaves a lot of thane. That said, serious thane lines equal serious wear. We definitely love the different sizing options available on the Butterballs and we suggest this wheel to any skater interested in smooth, long slides.
