On Saturday, the 25th of June, the “Up North, Down Hills” van charged up from off the cliffs and clangers of the redwooded rad-zone of Big Sur to find good times and beautiful women in the beach-side town of Santa Cruz.

Soon after popping out of Big Sur the crew found it’s way to the OG skate park in Santa Cruz, CA: Derby Park. Upon arrival there was a gang of action already underway. It was a blaster shredding the old school snake run, bobbin’ and weavin’ lots of toddlers on longboards, and radicool afro-bombing-tassle-donning bike-shredders.

Here’s the skinny on Derby Park: Kick into the top of the 1980s snake-run, pump the carve up and down the old school tight tranny, and either dump into the fish-bowl/ clam-shell or launch out over the table top. There was also a sweet-ass dirt ride that Ryder Bordeaux threw down on, making the ladies blush.

Throw in the Up North, Down Hills van crew, the Sunset Sliders, and some sick Monterey homies and you have an afternoon of shradical bonzing and BBQ action.

All and all, we had a great time. We stayed at the park till about 7.pm, slapped some fives and hugged it out with Brandon from Caliber and the rest of the locals and then worked out way up towards SF. Just before dusk we hit the beautiful Pacifica skatepark where we got loose and went to a local taqueria. I bought my first beer!

Our “Megavan” arrived at Big Dave’s house sometime later in the evening. We unloaded and formulated a plot to take over the nightlife of the city. . .

Ryder Bordeaux, when asked if he was going out and baggin’ some babes with the boys while in SF:

“Listen here, I love the ladies - don’t get me wrong, but busting out on four wheels is the ‘cunt’ in my ‘country’”
